James R Poshard & Son Inc. has served the agriculture markets since the birth of the company in 1971. Products delivered consist of a wide variety dry bulk items. Potash, DAP; Triple Phosphates, Super Urea, ESN, and many custom blends are products to name a few. These products have been picked up and/or delivered from local stores or reaching out as for as Alabama. We will go as far as needed to serve our existing customers’ needs as well as new customers to be. The dry fertilizer business has been predominantly Poshard’s services in the agriculture markets over the last 15 years. The company has provided these services since 1971 from hauling anything the Ag Markets can throw at us. Posey County COOP, Agrium, and Crop Productions Services have been customers for James R Poshard & Son Inc. for many years and several through many corporate mergers and/ or buyouts in the industry.
Grain has taken the back seat for several years but at times transport grains for the elevators within the tristate area for customers such as Consolidated Grain & Barge, Cargill, ADM to name a few along with many brokerage companies seeking to move customers products. Although the grain business is not what it once was, we still field calls and provide services at times of need and assist if circumstances are viable.

James R Poshard & Son Inc. has served the Liquid fertilizer markets since the birth of the company in 1970. We have provided services these services for local/ regional farmers, COOPS, Southern States Cooperative, Crop Production Service to name a few. We have had years of high volumes and those of just a few loads but remain just a phone call away to service anyone’s needs. We will go as far as needed to serve our existing customers’ needs as well as new customers to be.

Coal & Ash
Coal has served the company well as it has been a staple throughout history of this business. Although the regulations and environmental concerns of today have crippled the industry, coal continues to be the heartbeat of James R Poshard & Son Inc. transportation miles and industrial contracts. Serving customers locally and regionally, power plants, and customers’ needs via rail or barge, we continue to move in excess of 2,000,000 tons a year serving our nation’s energy needs. Alliance Coal or ALRP continues to be a large partner with our operations.

FLUX
James R Poshard & Son Inc. began serving the aluminum industries with FLUX in 2010 serving customers in multiple states for American Metal Chemical Corporation or AMCOR. Still today we continue to develop new business in this industry as well as serve the same contracts that started on day one of the relationship.

Petroleum Coke
James R Poshard & Son Inc. began transporting coke for regional customers on a consistent basis for Rain Cii and Marathon Petroleum Company since 2010 with volumes of 60,000 plus tons per year. These transports were both from barge to customer and from customer to barge.

Flat Beds
James R Poshard & Son Inc. serves the many facets that can be hauled with flatbeds. Our partners range with local road freight and OTR freight. We generally prefer local freight but consider all avenues, especially for our loyal customer’s needs. We haul mostly Zinc Ingits for Teck Metals that services many customers including AK Steel, plastic fencing for company of Westech Building Products or Westlake Chemical to name a few.
